- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience in a hospitality or fast-paced setting is preferred
- Familiarity with reservation management systems such as OpenTable or Guest Center
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of OpenTable or Guest Center is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
- Genuine passion for hospitality and guest interaction
- Basic knowledge of restaurant operations and promotions
- Ability to multitask and work effectively within a team
Job Duties
- Greets and acknowledges guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Opens the front door for guests arriving or leaving whenever possible
- Manages reservations using the established reservation system and ensures accurate guest information during each booking
- Provides guests who cannot be seated immediately with accurate wait times while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Communicates special events or requests to managers and appropriate staff to ensure accommodation
- Maintains knowledge of menu items, restaurant promotions, hours of operation, neighborhood information, parking and valet availability, restaurant contact details, and event or marketing referrals
- Performs opening, closing, and running side work including cleaning menus, organizing host stand, coat check and storage areas, cleaning storefront windows or doors, and maintaining restrooms
- Checks email and voicemail for reservations and messages, referring them to managers, chefs, or event teams as necessary
- Accommodates special seating requests without negatively impacting other guests' experiences
- Engages in conversation with guests while leading them to tables and ensures tables are fully set before seating
- Thanks guests as they leave and invites them to return, relaying their comments or suggestions to managers and introducing guests to management when appropriate
