Job Description
Atlas Restaurant Group is a prominent hospitality company known for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. With a portfolio of vibrant restaurants and a focus on high standards of service, the group has solidified its reputation as one of the fastest growing companies in Baltimore. Dedicated to fostering a positive work environment and supporting career growth, Atlas Restaurant Group emphasizes employee engagement, teamwork, and continuous learning. The group values collaboration, accountability, and emotional intelligence, ensuring all team members contribute to maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere across their properties.
The Host role at Atlas Restaurant Group is integral to the overall dining experience. Acting as the first point of contact for guests, the Host creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that reflects the restaurant's commitment to excellent service and high standards. This role involves greeting guests upon arrival, managing reservations and waitlists, answering phones, and overseeing to-go orders. Hosts ensure that the flow and pace of the dining service run smoothly by effectively coordinating seating between server sections and communicating guest needs to management and staff. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to cleanliness and sanitation standards, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Host also plays a key role in monitoring the cleanliness of menus, host stands, and performing periodic cleaning tasks including bathroom checks.
Flexibility is an essential aspect of this role as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The position demands strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure while handling multiple responsibilities. Depending on local regulations, food handler certification may be required. Hosts need basic computer proficiency to use point-of-sale systems like Toast POS, Restaurant365, and reservation platforms such as OpenTable. Additionally, basic math skills and a foundational understanding of English are preferred to effectively communicate and facilitate transactions.
The Host role at Atlas Restaurant Group offers competitive hourly wages that vary by state, ranging from $13.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on the location. Full-time employees working 30 or more hours weekly are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development programs, mobility and advancement opportunities, pet insurance, and discounts at Atlas properties. Part-time employees also have access to 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning opportunities, advancement paths, and property discounts.
Working at Atlas Restaurant Group means more than just a job—it means being part of a growing enterprise that invests in its people and the community. Hosts enjoy a dynamic work environment marked by moderate noise typical of restaurant settings, exposure to occasional mechanical parts and cleaning agents, and the physical demands of standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting. Team members are encouraged to engage actively with colleagues, provide and receive feedback constructively, and uphold the group’s standards of personal accountability and teamwork. Joining the Atlas team provides the opportunity to interact directly with ownership and senior management, fostering a transparent, supportive workplace dedicated to employee success and growth.
