Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established family-owned seafood restaurant chain with a rich history spanning over fifty years. The company began with a vision to connect people to the joy of seafood and the coastal experience, and it has grown into a community-driven brand with more than 500 locations. Each restaurant is an extension of the founding passion for delivering exceptional meals and memorable moments to guests. Red Lobster is known not only for its delicious seafood but also for its warm, welcoming atmosphere that turns new visitors into familiar faces. The chain is deeply embedded in the communities it serves and takes pride in its role as a gathering place for friends and families to enjoy quality dining experiences together.
The role of a Host at Red Lobster is critical in shaping the guest experience from the moment they enter the restaurant until they leave. As a Host, you serve as the first point of contact and the face of hospitality, responsible for greeting guests with a friendly smile and ensuring their visit begins positively. This position involves managing reservations, accurately quoting wait times, and guiding guests to their seats while maintaining seamless and attentive service. Hosts are expected to provide personalized experiences, catering to guest needs and preferences to enhance their overall dining satisfaction. The role requires a strong focus on guest and team interactions, where every decision should prioritize creating a welcoming, comfortable environment.
Red Lobster offers a comprehensive benefits package for Hosts, including weekly pay, competitive wages, flexible scheduling, and options for medical, dental, and vision insurance starting at an affordable rate. Additional benefits include life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match after one year of service. Employees are also eligible for anniversary pay, discounted meals during shifts, and a 25 percent discount when dining as a guest. Importantly, Red Lobster invests in employee growth by providing training and career advancement opportunities, supporting team members' professional development within the company.
The physical requirements for the Host role involve the ability to move throughout the restaurant, stand for prolonged periods (8 to 12 hours per shift), and handle tasks such as bending, reaching, stooping, and safely lifting up to 30 pounds. The role demands attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and teamwork, ensuring that the needs of both guests and team members are met efficiently. Red Lobster is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace, offering reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Joining Red Lobster means being part of a family that values tradition, community connection, and a passion for seafood. The company prides itself on offering a positive work environment where employees are respected and supported, with plenty of opportunities to grow and succeed. As Red Lobster looks forward to exciting developments and expansion, it is an ideal time for prospective team members to contribute to and benefit from the company’s continued success. As an equal opportunity employer, Red Lobster embraces diversity and provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status.
