Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and retail chain, founded in 1969, that offers a unique combination of delicious Southern cuisine, nostalgic country store shopping, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel prides itself on fostering a culture that combines authentic hospitality with a sense of community. The company has built a loyal customer base by providing hearty, home-style meals and an inviting environment where guests can gather and reconnect. Cracker Barrel is committed to creating meaningful moments for both employees and guests through teamwork, respect, and care. The establishment continually strives not only to serve great food but also to provide an exceptional guest experience that feels like coming home.
The role of a Host at Cracker Barrel is central to delivering this warm hospitality from the moment guests enter the door. As a Host, you will be the friendly face that welcomes customers, manages the flow of the dining room, and ensures guests feel comfortable and valued throughout their visit. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, demonstrate patience and poise in busy situations, and work well as part of a team. No prior restaurant experience is necessary as Cracker Barrel offers comprehensive training through its industry-leading PAR (Practice, Apply, Refine) training program beginning on day one.
Hosts play a critical role in the operational success of the restaurant by managing the waitlist, updating guests enthusiastically, and ensuring tables are ready promptly for the next group. Their positive attitude and approachable style contribute significantly to the overall dining atmosphere. Cracker Barrel also emphasizes caring for its employees by providing competitive weekly pay, same-day pay access, and eligibility for health insurance starting immediately for both full-time and part-time team members.
Beyond compensation, the company offers a supportive work environment featuring vacation time, an employee assistance program, growth and development opportunities, and a 401k plan with company matching contributions at 90 days. Employees can also participate in the Employee Stock Purchase Program and benefit from various recognition programs and events designed to nurture a sense of belonging. Additional perks include a 35 percent discount on Cracker Barrel food and retail items and access to exclusive offers on travel, cell phones, and home goods through the Biscuit Perks program.
Working as a Host at Cracker Barrel means being part of a team that values each other and its guests, encourages personal growth, and upholds a tradition of genuine Southern hospitality. Whether greeting guests, assisting with seating, or supporting team members behind the scenes, Hosts contribute to creating memorable moments that keep guests coming back. If you have a warm personality, work well under pressure, and want to grow with a company that truly cares, Cracker Barrel invites you to apply and join a team dedicated to making every moment matter.
