Job Description
TravelCenters of America (TA) has been a trusted name in the travel and trucking industry for over 50 years, serving millions of professional truck drivers and motorists across the United States. As one of the largest travel center networks in the country, TA offers essential services that include fuel, food, truck maintenance, and various other amenities that travelers rely on when on the road. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, TA is committed to innovation, sustainability, and providing a welcoming environment not only for customers but also for its employees. The company culture fosters growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement, making it an attractive workplace for those interested in a career with advancement potential in a dynamic and evolving industry.
The role of Host at TravelCenters of America is a key position within their restaurant operations, responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience that aligns with the company’s mission to "return every traveler to the road better than they came." The Host acts as the ambassador of hospitality, greeting guests with warmth and enthusiasm and ensuring that each visitor feels welcomed and valued. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, working in a fast-paced service environment, and contributing to a positive dining experience.
As a Host, your day-to-day responsibilities will include welcoming customers courteously and efficiently, providing information about menu items and promotions, processing transactions using point-of-sale (POS) systems, and coordinating with kitchen and dining staff to prioritize guest needs. Additionally, Hosts maintain cleanliness and safety protocols, handle food and equipment properly, and communicate effectively with team members to uphold service standards. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the needs of a 24/7 travel center environment.
TA values team members who are dedicated, collaborative, and eager to be part of a supportive work culture. While prior food service experience and basic POS knowledge are advantageous, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important. In return, TA offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, wellbeing, and professional growth of its employees. This includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, paid vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement, discount programs on meals, technology, travel, and fuel, and opportunities for career advancement.
Joining TravelCenters of America means becoming part of an organization that not only serves travelers but champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to contribute their unique perspectives. Whether working at a travel center or in corporate headquarters, every team member plays a vital role in the company’s ongoing success and innovation. For those looking to grow in a fun, dynamic, and meaningful workplace, a Host position at TA offers both challenge and reward.
