Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a beloved American restaurant and retail company that has been bringing folks together since 1969. Known for its home-style cooking, warm atmosphere, and unique retail offerings, Cracker Barrel combines the comfort of a southern country store with a dining experience that feels like a warm embrace. The company prides itself on creating moments that matter, not just through its food but through the people who make it all happen. With more than 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel emphasizes community, teamwork, and a genuine spirit of hospitality. Its work culture is built on values of inclusion and belonging, where employees are encouraged to grow and thrive in their roles while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

This opportunity is for a Host position at Cracker Barrel, where the role begins with delivering a heartfelt welcome to every guest walking through the door. The Host is a vital first impression ambassador, responsible for managing the flow of the dining room by coordinating the waitlist, keeping guests informed with a cheerful demeanor, and ensuring that each table is well-prepared for welcoming the next group of diners. Whether greeting families, couples, or solo guests, the Host’s presence sets the tone for a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the restaurant.

No prior restaurant experience is necessary, as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training through its industry-leading PAR program, empowering new employees with the skills and knowledge to succeed right from day one. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, can remain calm and composed under pressure, and thrive in a supportive, team-first environment. Cracker Barrel values employees who bring positive energy and a warm, approachable style to their interactions, creating memorable moments for guests and colleagues alike.

The employment type includes both full-time and part-time opportunities, supporting flexible work schedules to fit diverse needs. Compensation is competitive, with weekly pay and same-day pay access to help employees manage their finances efficiently. Beyond wages, Cracker Barrel offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being and professional growth. Health insurance eligibility starts immediately for all employees, alongside vacation time, an employee assistance program, and a 401k plan with company match after 90 days. The Employee Stock Purchase Program allows team members to invest in the company’s success, while exclusive discounts on food, retail, and various lifestyle perks add value to working at Cracker Barrel.

Working at Cracker Barrel is more than just a job; it’s about being part of a family that values every team member’s contribution. The culture promotes recognition, development, and connection through various onboarding, training, and employee events that foster a sense of belonging and pride. Whether you’re rolling out biscuits or managing the host stand, your role contributes to something bigger – crafting an experience that feels like coming home. This position invites you to join a company where good work is appreciated, diversity is embraced, and every day brings the chance to make meaningful memories with guests and coworkers alike.

Cracker Barrel is an equal opportunity employer that welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace where everyone has the chance to succeed and grow.
