The Patient Food Services team at Saint Francis Hospital is currently seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker to join their dedicated staff. This role is pivotal in maintaining the hospital’s high standard of patient care by ensuring the timely and accurate delivery and retrieval of patient meal trays. The position operates on a rotating shift schedule, requiring flexibility and dedication to meet the demands of hospital operations. Reporting directly to the Food Service Supervisor or Manager, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the transportation, delivery, and collection of completed food trays to and from patient rooms. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires attention to detail to ensure patient satisfaction and adherence to food safety protocols.

Employees in this role must be physically capable of performing tasks that include moderate amounts of stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling, as well as extended periods of standing and walking throughout the patient floors. The role necessitates strict compliance with hospital policies, including the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, hair nets, masks, slip-resistant shoes, and eye protection to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Effective communication skills are essential, as the Food Service Worker must be able to read, write, and speak English to understand and follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
