This role demands multitasking capabilities such as handling guest arrivals, managing telephone inquiries, and supporting coworkers seamlessly throughout shifts. Monitoring table status to minimize wait times and communicating with guests about seating availability and wait expectations are essential responsibilities. The employee also manages the pager system to notify waiting guests, maintains a clean and orderly front entry and host stand, and performs regular checks of the restrooms to ensure cleanliness and adequate supplies. While no previous experience is strictly required, experience with point of sale systems is advantageous.
