The Ritz-Carlton is a renowned luxury hotel brand that operates more than 100 award-winning properties worldwide. Known for setting the highest standards in luxury hospitality, The Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen create truly exceptional guest experiences that leave a lasting impression long after the stay has ended. The company attracts some of the world’s top hospitality professionals who are empowered to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate as they curate lifelong memories for guests. The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on delivering excellence in guest care, comfort, and service, which is guided by its unique Gold Standards. These standards, which include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, form the foundation of the brand and drive its culture of success. Working at The Ritz-Carlton means being part of a team that values diversity, fosters inclusion, and is committed to providing non-discriminatory employment opportunities. The company embraces associates from various backgrounds, ensuring equal access to opportunity and welcoming qualified individuals without regard to disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The Ritz-Carlton also considers applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
The role of a Host/Hostess at The Ritz-Carlton is vital in shaping the first impression guests have upon entering the dining area. This position involves greeting guests warmly and determining the size of their party to efficiently seat them at an appropriate table. Hosts/Hostesses are responsible for maintaining an organized and clean seating environment, which includes moving and arranging tables and chairs to accommodate groups with special needs, ensuring place settings are complete, and keeping menus current, clean, and wrinkle-free. The position requires constant attention to the dining environment to monitor seating availability, guest service, safety, and overall well-being. Hosts/Hostesses must practice cleanliness throughout their work area by adhering to clean-as-you-go procedures that uphold the highest sanitation standards. They are also expected to follow all company safety and security policies, report any unsafe conditions or accidents to management, and complete required safety trainings. Uniform appearance must be clean and professional at all times, and confidentiality of proprietary information must be maintained.
Communication skills are essential, as the role requires welcoming guests according to company standards, speaking clearly and professionally with guests and team members, and answering telephone inquiries with appropriate etiquette. Hosts/Hostesses support teamwork by developing positive working relationships, listening to and responding appropriately to other employees’ concerns, and helping the team achieve its collective goals. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended durations, as well as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The role also involves performing additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to start a career in luxury hospitality without prior experience or supervisory background, as the company provides training and growth opportunities. Joining The Ritz-Carlton team means becoming part of a global brand portfolio under Marriott International, where the promise is to be the best version of yourself while belonging to an amazing global team and beginning your purpose in delivering unmatched service excellence.
