The Host role at Atlas Restaurant Group is essential for crafting a positive first impression that resonates throughout the entire guest experience. As the first point of contact, the Host is responsible for greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, managing wait times, maintaining an organized host stand, and facilitating smooth seating coordination to ensure even workloads among servers. The Host will also manage reservations, answer phones, handle to-go orders, and relay important guest information such as special occasions to the management and service team. This position requires excellent communication skills, an understanding of cleanliness and sanitation, and the ability to operate various POS and reservation systems including Toast, Restaurant365, and OpenTable. The Host must be flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and possess a positive, polite demeanor to maintain high customer satisfaction.

This full-time or part-time hourly position offers competitive wages dependent on location, ranging from $13.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting the cost of living and market standards within each state of operation. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May require a food handler's certification depending on local regulations
  • Must have the knowledge to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement
  • Must have the knowledge to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and tips
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Must be able to learn and utilize Toast POS, Restaurant365 systems, and OpenTable
  • Basic knowledge of English
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written company directives
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies and regulations
  • Must have the ability to effectively answer questions and speak before groups
  • Must have the ability to use common sense to understand and carry out instructions
  • Must have the ability to creatively solve problems in a fast paced environment using experience
  • Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Ensure dress code policy is followed consistently
  • Interact with guest, create reservations
  • Assess guest needs and requirements for an unforgettable experience
  • Inform manager and servers/bartenders of guest special occasions
  • Keep host stand clean and organized
  • Ensure menus are clean and ready for service
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties, as well as periodical bathroom checks
  • Rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for server
