Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished hospitality company that combines a sophisticated Napa-style tasting room, an inspired retail wine experience, and a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space to offer guests a modern yet casual dining atmosphere. Founded in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has cultivated a reputation for excellence by pairing their scratch-kitchen menu items with their award-winning, curated wines. The company is notable for its expansive wine club, which is among the largest in the world, granting exclusive membership benefits such as special dining and travel experiences that enhance the overall wine and dining lifestyle. Adding to their culinary portfolio, Cooper's Hawk has introduced Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, which brings the dynamic flavors of Rome to their guests. Their unique approach blends the cultural richness of Napa Valley with vibrant Roman cuisine, establishing Cooper's Hawk as a lifestyle brand that is both innovative and authentic.
The role of the Host at Cooper's Hawk is pivotal in shaping an unforgettable guest experience. As the first point of personal contact, Hosts embody the spirit of Uncompromising Hospitality by warmly greeting guests and ensuring smooth table flow from arrival to departure. This position requires a proactive approach to guest interactions, where the Host facilitates helpful conversations, manages seating arrangements to optimize table availability, and consistently supports the dining team to provide seamless service. The Host also handles guest inquiries about the food, wine, and overall experience, adding a personal touch that aligns with Cooper’s Hawk’s dedication to superior dining service.
Beyond guest interaction, Hosts are responsible for maintaining a polished professional image and upholding the appearance and behavior standards that reflect the company’s values. It is essential that Hosts stay organized and ready by preparing the host station and managing dining room pacing effectively. Communication skills are critical to this role, as Hosts collaborate closely with managers and team members to keep service flowing efficiently. This role demands physical endurance to stand for long periods and the capability to lift up to 40 pounds, alongside the flexibility to work weekends and holidays, responding to the demands of a busy hospitality environment.
Cooper's Hawk offers a comprehensive benefits package and career development opportunities that foster employee growth and wellness. Team members enjoy a 50 percent discount on dining and carryout, a 40 percent discount on retail wine, and a 20 percent discount on retail and private events. Monthly wine tastings for two provide opportunities for wine and culinary education, enhancing the Host’s knowledge and passion for hospitality. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and telehealth plans, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off, flexible schedules, early pay access, and support for wellness and mental health. Recognizing the contributions of their employees, Cooper's Hawk offers team member rewards, milestone recognition, and referral bonuses. There is also a career growth flight plan, which clearly maps out opportunities for professional advancement within the company.
Overall, the Host position at Cooper's Hawk is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional hospitality, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and value teamwork. By joining Cooper’s Hawk, Hosts become integral members of a brand that is redefining the dining and wine-tasting experience through personalized, hospitable service and a commitment to cultivating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
