The role of a Host at Golden Road Brewing's LA Pub is an integral part of the front-of-house team, responsible for ensuring every guest's visit begins and ends on a positive note. As the first and last point of contact, Hosts play a key role in shaping the guest experience by creating a warm, inviting atmosphere and managing the flow of service efficiently. The position is part-time, offering a competitive hourly wage starting at $17.87. Hosts utilize Toast Tables software to manage waitlists and reservations seamlessly, and they are expected to maintain a calm and upbeat demeanor even during the busiest times. Working in close collaboration with the pub's front-of-house team, Hosts help uphold Golden Road Brewing's standards of hospitality by greeting guests with professionalism, providing accurate wait time updates, and assisting with a variety of tasks including merchandise sales, to-go orders, and phone inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills, an ability to stay organized under pressure, and a positive team-oriented attitude. It is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-volume environments and enjoy contributing to a cohesive, customer-focused team. Weekend and evening availability is a must, along with the physical capability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • availability to work weekends and evenings
  • valid California food handler's card
  • valid RBS/alcohol handler's card
  • ability to lift 25 pounds or more
  • basic familiarity with reservation software preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous customer service, host, or restaurant experience preferred but not required
  • qualified to sell off-premise beer
  • valid California compliant food handler's and RBS/alcohol handler's cards
  • familiarity with Toast Tables or similar waitlist/reservation platforms a plus
  • strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • ability to remain calm, friendly and organized in a high-volume environment
  • must be able to stand for extended periods and move quickly through crowded spaces
  • ability to lift 25 plus pounds
  • weekend and evening availability required

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with warmth and professionalism upon arrival and departure
  • manage waitlists and reservations through Toast Tables software
  • communicate accurate wait times and seating updates to guests
  • monitor table turnover and coordinate with servers and bussers to ensure smooth transitions
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entryway
  • answer phone calls and provide basic information
  • assist with to-go orders, merchandise sales, and other FOH duties as needed
  • sell packaged beer products to-go and provide basic information about Golden Road beers
  • support the FOH team in creating a seamless and enjoyable guest experience
  • execute sidework and running tasks
  • assist utility team and service team as needed
  • uphold standards of hospitality and represent the brand in a positive light
  • complete sidework, stocking, and other duties as needed
