Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid form of identification
  • May require a food handler's certification depending on local regulations
  • Must have the knowledge to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • must have the knowledge to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and tips
  • must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Must be able to work efficiently under pressure
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent customer service skills
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to learn and utilize Toast Point-of-Sale (POS), Restaurant365 systems and OpenTable
  • basic knowledge of English is highly preferred
  • must have the ability to read, understand and follow both verbal and written company directives and initiatives
  • must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of government policies and regulations
  • Must have the ability to use common sense to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
  • must have the ability to creatively solve problems in a fast paced environment
  • must be able to stand, walk, reach, handle, talk, hear and taste
  • able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • able to occasionally sit, climb stairs and maintain balance
  • possess close, distance, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • must have sufficient physical mobility or agility to respond quickly to emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • Guest service experience in hospitality industry is preferred
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • basic understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • excellent customer service skills with a polite and attentive demeanor
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • basic knowledge of English

  • knowledge of government policies and regulations
  • ability to effectively communicate with managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • proficiency with Toast Point-of-Sale, Restaurant365, and OpenTable systems
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate discounts, tips, and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • emotional intelligence and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure dress code policy is followed consistently
  • interact with guests and create reservations
  • assess guest needs and requirements for an unforgettable experience
  • inform manager and servers/bartenders of guest special occasions
  • keep host stand clean and organized
  • ensure menus are clean and ready for service
  • perform daily and weekly cleaning duties including bathroom checks
  • rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for servers
