Job Description
Atlas Restaurant Group is a prominent hospitality company recognized for its commitment to exceptional service and high standards within the restaurant industry. With a robust presence across several states including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Florida, and Texas, the group operates a diverse range of dining establishments that blend unique culinary experiences with a welcoming atmosphere. Known for its dedication to growth and the community, Atlas Restaurant Group offers a dynamic work environment where team members are valued and career growth is encouraged. The company fosters a culture of respect, innovation, and support, striving to ensure every guest enjoys an unforgettable dining experience. As one of the fastest growing companies in Baltimore, Atlas Restaurant Group engages closely with its employees and leadership to maintain its reputation for excellence.
The role of Host at Atlas Restaurant Group is integral to the success of its dining services, serving as the first point of contact for guests and setting the tone for their visit. Hosts present a positive first impression by demonstrating friendliness, excellent customer service, and adherence to the company’s high standards. Duties include greeting guests upon arrival, managing waitlists efficiently, coordinating reservations and seating to maintain even workloads among servers, and ensuring the host stand and dining areas are clean and well-organized. This position is key to the smooth flow and pace of the dining experience by welcoming patrons, communicating wait times, and ensuring guest needs are assessed and met with professionalism and care.
This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but requires a host to effectively interact with guests, handle to-go orders, and communicate special occasions to managers and bartenders to enhance guest experience. The position demands a good understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards, exceptional organizational skills, flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and basic proficiency in restaurant software systems such as Toast Point-of-Sale, Restaurant365, and OpenTable. Given the fast-paced and often high-pressure environment of the restaurant industry, the host must display strong emotional intelligence, teamwork, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback. The position may also require a food handler’s certification depending on local regulations.
Compensation for the Host position varies by location, with hourly wages ranging from $13.00 to $25.00. Full-time employees working 30 or more hours weekly are eligible for comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development programs, mobility and advancement opportunities, pet insurance, and discounts at Atlas properties. Part-time employees receive a similar suite of benefits, adjusted for hours worked.
Joining Atlas Restaurant Group as a Host is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a supportive, community-focused company that values professional growth and interpersonal skills. Employees regularly interact with ownership and senior management, allowing for unique mentorship opportunities and a strong sense of community in the workplace. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, this position offers a rewarding and professionally enriching career path.
