Additionally, familiarity with the restaurant layout including seat numbers, capacity, and table setups is essential. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests both in person and on the phone. You should be comfortable handling basic math tasks related to party counts, bills, and reservations. Experience with point of sale (POS) systems or reservation software is preferred to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Physical endurance is important as the role involves standing for the entire shift and performing some light lifting and reaching. A calm and professional demeanor combined with a friendly attitude will help you excel in this important ambassadorial role. Previous experience in hosting or customer service is considered a plus, but a willingness to learn and a passion for hospitality are the most valued traits.
