The Host position at Johnny Carino's plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for every guest, setting the tone for their entire dining experience. Hosts are responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing seating arrangements, and accommodating special requests to ensure customer satisfaction. Beyond greeting and seating guests, the role also involves handling To-Go orders, including taking orders over the phone and in person, processing transactions accurately through the Point of Sale system, packaging meals efficiently, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. This role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine desire to provide friendly and helpful service. Hosts also manage the wait list by recording guest names, the number of people in each party, and providing estimated wait times, which helps to streamline the flow of the dining room and optimize guest wait times. By inspecting tables before guests are seated and thanking them as they leave, Hosts help maintain the restaurant’s high standards of service and hospitality. This full-time or part-time position requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak dining times. The position emphasizes physical stamina, including the ability to stand and move around for extended periods during shifts up to eight hours. Job Duties

  • greet all guests with a warm welcome upon arrival
  • seat guests and accommodate special requests
  • manage the wait list by recording guest names and party size and providing estimated waiting times
  • provide an exceptional to-go experience by taking phone and walk-in orders, processing them through the point of sale system, packaging items, cashing guests out and ensuring timely and accurate order delivery
  • answer phones and manage the restaurant reservation system
  • inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness
  • thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
