We are currently seeking a skilled and personable Host to become an essential part of our front-of-house team. This role is pivotal in setting the tone for each guest's dining experience, as the host is the first and last point of contact for our patrons. The position requires a blend of hard skills and engaging people skills to manage guest seating efficiently while multitasking various operational duties such as handling food and beverage orders and processing payments. Success in this role requires attentiveness, patience, and a consistently positive attitude to uphold our restaurant's reputation for exceptional service.
The Host will greet guests with a friendly demeanor, escort them to their tables, and ensure that all seating arrangements run smoothly regardless of how busy the restaurant becomes. Responsibilities also include opening doors for guests, accommodating special needs such as boosters, highchairs, or accessibility requirements, and managing the waitlist effectively when the dining area reaches capacity. To enhance the dining experience, the Host provides accurate menu information and recommends additional items that may complement guests' choices, contributing to upselling opportunities.
In addition to guest interactions, the Host plays a significant role in order management. They take customer orders either through software, written slips, or memorization and communicate these details accurately to the kitchen staff to ensure timely and correct meal preparation. The role also encompasses the delivery of food and beverages to guests, whether dining inside or outside the restaurant, as well as managing the collection of bill payments using cash or credit card transactions.
Maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant is part of the Host’s daily duties, which supports the overall aesthetic and comfort of the space. This position demands reliability, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative spirit, contributing directly to the seamless operation of the restaurant and the excellence of the guest experience. Job Duties
- Greeting, seating, and escorting guests
- Opens door for guests arriving and departing
- Accommodates any special needs of guests, i.e., boosters, highchairs, disabilities
- Process To-Go and Delivery Orders
- Manage Wait List when the restaurant is busy
- Providing menu recommendations and additional information
- Upselling additional products when appropriate
- Taking orders using software, order slips, or by memorization
- Communicating order details to the kitchen staff
- Delivering food and beverages in a timely fashion to outside guests
- Delivering checks and collecting bill payments
- Cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the restaurant
