The Hospitality/Events Coordinator role at The Davis Community involves orchestrating a wide range of events across the campus, including private events, entertainment engagements, and meetings, especially within Magnolia’s Event Center. This position plays a pivotal role in the seamless execution of events by collaborating with various departments including sales, marketing, activities, maintenance, and food and beverage teams. The coordinator acts as the primary liaison between clients and campus departments, ensuring all aspects of event planning and execution meet the highest standards. From scheduling entertainment at the Amphitheater to planning annual trips for independent living residents, the coordinator is entrusted with creating memorable experiences that reflect the welcoming spirit of The Davis Community. The role demands strategic promotional campaigns, adept calendar management of event spaces, effective social media content creation, and keen problem-solving abilities to handle customer complaints and staff disputes. This position not only requires strong organizational skills but also a passion for delivering hospitality that fosters community engagement and satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Must have strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to function effectively while meeting established deadlines and multiple work assignments
  • Able to work weekends and holidays as needed, sharing the Manager on Duty responsibilities
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physical exertion is required including intermittent lifting, pushing, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
  • Requires standing, kneeling, and bending
  • Minimal exposure to infectious diseases
  • Works in a well-lighted environment with exposure to moisture, heat, cold, odors, equipment, chemicals, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in event management, business, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in managing, planning, and executing events
  • Previous experience working with seniors is strongly preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan and executes all private events
  • Plan and execute an annual trip for the Independent Living residents
  • Schedules and promotes entertainment for the Amphitheater and other venues on campus
  • Assists with operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department and the campus
  • Executes delivery and measurement of guest service within departments consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes
  • Participate in operations and event meetings with internal departments as needed
  • Ensures that necessary meeting facilities are reserved where applicable
  • Conduct demographic research for events and advise on the viability of potential events
  • Resolve customer complaints and provide solutions to staff disputes
  • Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, and mutual respect
  • Obeys all local, state and federal laws
  • Social media management and content creation
  • Calendar management of multiple event spaces
  • Other duties as assigned
