The Gardens encompass a variety of areas including stunning floral displays, fountains, woodlands, meadows, and dynamic programming that cater to guests of all ages and interests. As a premier horticultural attraction, Longwood Gardens is not only a destination for relaxation and recreation but also a vital contributor to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

At the heart of Longwood Gardens' success is its dedicated team of professionals. Across numerous departments, each staff member plays an integral role in creating the unforgettable magic that makes the Gardens distinctive. The organization's culture is defined by a spirit of legacy, innovation, and opportunity, focusing on both preserving tradition and embracing new ideas. The commitment to excellence is reflected in the quality of the visitor experience, the care of the plant collections, and the engagement with the wider community. This balance of beauty and professionalism is what sets Longwood Gardens apart, fostering an environment where staff are encouraged to contribute their best and grow within the organization.

Longwood Gardens is currently seeking part-time Guest Engagement Hospitality Supervisors to join their dynamic team. This role is essential in leading staff and ensuring the smooth operation of Garden events and guest experiences. Hospitality Supervisors are responsible for overseeing various activities such as concerts, photoshoots, rental events, transportation services, and other Garden programs, ensuring that every guest interaction is memorable and positive. Working collaboratively across departments, these supervisors coordinate staffing and scheduling requirements, develop operational guidelines, and provide comprehensive training to team members.

Specifically, the Guest Engagement Hospitality Supervisor functions as the "Manager on Duty" within Guest Engagement support roles. This leadership position requires creating and communicating Standard Operating Procedures to maintain consistent and successful operations throughout various guest services. Additionally, supervisors manage budgets, supplies, and equipment necessary for daily team operations. A key part of the role involves coordinating audience seating arrangements and ticketing for concerts, scheduling staff for various event-related services such as coat check and transportation, as well as escorting groups during photoshoot sessions to ensure compliance with guidelines while supporting overall guest satisfaction. Managing special guest requests and coordinating related services also fall under this role’s responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience supervising staff and managing budgets in settings that involve public programs, venue seating, customer service, or guest relations. A valid Driver’s License is required as the role includes operating golf carts and shuttles within the Gardens. Candidates must be available to work an average of at least 20 hours per week, primarily during evenings, weekends, and holidays, adapting to the seasonal nature of events. Basic computer proficiency or a willingness to learn operational systems is necessary, along with participation in required safety and security training. The ability to confidently manage fast-paced, high-volume environments and handle challenging guest interactions with professionalism, tact, and sound judgment is essential. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods in all weather conditions and lifting items up to 25 pounds.

Longwood Gardens is committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates the complexities and differences of all living things. This commitment enriches the workplace culture, fosters innovation, and ensures that guests and staff alike feel welcomed and respected.
