Job Description
citizenM x Another Star is a dynamic and innovative hospitality company redefining the guest experience by blending technology, human-centric service, and vibrant personalities. Proudly operating in the hotel industry, citizenM aims to put humanity back into hospitality by fostering a joyful work environment where employees, known as ambassadors, are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work. Instead of confining roles into traditional titles like 'receptionist' or 'food and beverage,' citizenM empowers its ambassadors to become versatile multitaskers. This allows them to engage in a broad range of activities such as customer service, concierge duties, barista or mixologist tasks, logistics, and more. By doing this, citizenM ensures that employees not only develop various skills but also deliver an exceptional and warm experience to every guest.
The company’s Boston team is currently seeking individuals with great personalities and a genuine passion for hospitality. The role is not your typical hotel position; it embraces flexibility, creativity, and interpersonal skills. Ambassadors make sure every guest receives a warm and friendly welcome the moment they walk in, often assisting guests through self check-in kiosks given the absence of a traditional reception desk. The position involves preparing and serving meals, working in the kitchen with tasks including dishwashing, food handling, and cooking, as well as brewing coffee or mixing cocktails. Ambassadors act as local experts to guests by providing recommendations on the best places to visit, eat, and enjoy the city. Maintaining the communal living areas and canteen, managing reservations via property management systems, helping guests with facility requests, and preparing meeting spaces are also part of this multifaceted role.
Shifts typically cover mornings from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and evenings from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with weekend availability required. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $31.26 and includes bonus potential based on team impact, guest satisfaction, and financial performances. citizenM values attitude above skills, seeking people who are optimistic, collaborative, and genuinely enjoy making others smile. They promote a culture that supports learning and curiosity, encouraging ambassadors to find simpler, bolder ways to improve guest experiences continually.
This role also values empathy for people and the environment, cultural openness, and diversity. Employees must be fluent in English and authorized to work in the United States, with potential travel for training opportunities. Working at citizenM offers numerous benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage at low employee cost, life insurance, 401K plans, exclusive uniforms, meal and coffee provisions during shifts, and an employee assistance program.
citizenM fosters an inclusive workplace, celebrating diversity and ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and other identities. They also maintain a strong commitment to candidate privacy and encourage applicants to express their authentic selves in their applications, emphasizing the human touch in recruitment processes beyond mere resumes. Joining citizenM means becoming part of a vibrant team that values enthusiasm, versatility, and genuine care for guests and colleagues alike.
