The role of Hospitality Attendant at Mid-Continent Hospitality is an integral part of the hotel's team dedicated to maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of guest areas. This position involves cleaning, restocking, and upkeep of guest corridors, elevators, breakfast areas, and all other assigned zones to ensure a spotless and inviting atmosphere for guests and staff alike. The Hospitality Attendant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of sanitation in all common areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, and other food preparation spaces, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to health and safety standards.

This full-time position requires the ability to work on feet for the entire shift and handle medium physical work, involving lifting, carrying, and moving items as needed. The Hospitality Attendant serves as a visible and friendly presence within the hotel, greeting guests warmly and ensuring their satisfaction as they move through various hotel spaces. Familiarity with the hotel’s standard operating procedures, brand guidelines, and safety protocols, including fire exit locations and maintenance reporting, is also essential.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving a daily complimentary breakfast bar, ensuring the breakfast and public areas are well-stocked and clean at all times, as well as vacuuming, trash disposal, and restocking supplies according to the hotel’s checklist. The role also encompasses interaction with guests and employees in a courteous, service-oriented manner, maintaining personal grooming standards, wearing the proper uniform and name tag, and upholding Mid-Continent Hospitality’s standards.

Additionally, the Hospitality Attendant will be attentive in identifying maintenance needs and promptly reporting them, as well as assisting with lost and found items by ensuring they are handled according to the company protocol. Flexibility to perform related tasks as assigned by the supervisor is also expected, allowing for adaptability in contributing to hotel operations. This role plays a vital part in delivering a warm and exceptional experience to the guests, supporting the team with a proactive and positive approach to hospitality duties.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Medium work capability - exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, or 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag per brand standards
  • Comply with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Maintain a friendly and warm atmosphere
  • Be familiar with the hotel's standard operating procedures
  • Interact with all guests and employees in a courteous manner
  • Ensure the correct and timely setup of all breakfast order functions
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout food areas, pre-function spaces, storage areas, carpets, walls, walks, windows, and heating/air conditioning units
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher locations and follow all hotel safety rules
  • Breakdown after completion of functions and ensure all equipment and supplies are stored properly
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Prepare and serve the daily complimentary breakfast bar
  • Greet each guest and ensure their satisfaction
  • Keep breakfast area sufficiently stocked at all times
  • Ensure cleanliness of breakfast and common public areas
  • Clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas
  • Vacuum floors and remove trash
  • Check and restock complimentary coffee, snacks, and toiletry supplies according to hotel checklist
  • Notify maintenance department of needed repairs
  • Take found items to designated lost and found areas if guest has checked out
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
