This posting is for a Hospitalist Physician Locums position in Washington, offering a varied and dynamic schedule starting as soon as credentialing is complete. Locum tenens hospitalists play a critical role in maintaining continuity of inpatient care across multiple facilities, providing essential coverage that supports hospital operations and patient outcomes. This ongoing assignment requires physicians to adapt to a flexible scheduling model with day, swing, and night shifts available, covering multiple hospital locations. The ideal candidate is board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with prior hospital medicine experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality inpatient care. The employer prefers candidates who can commit to a minimum of six to twelve months and work seven-day blocks every other week to ensure consistent and effective patient management.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include patient admissions and daily rounding on an average census of 14 to 18 patients, managing both admitting panels and rounding duties dependent on the service needs. Physicians will utilize EPIC electronic medical records to document care and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. Night shift hospitalists may serve as sole providers, handling admissions, cross-coverage, and responding to patient codes as needed, highlighting the importance of strong clinical judgment and independent decision-making. ICU coverage varies but may involve some co-management responsibilities in mostly closed intensive care units. Additionally, physicians will engage in reviewing Internal Medicine residents in their third year of training, contributing to the educational mission of the hospitals.

The assignment requires a Washington medical license, board certification, and active DEA, ACLS, and BLS certifications. A clean malpractice history is highly preferred to ensure compliance with facility standards.
