The role of Veterinarian at Petco's Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospital offers an immersive and rewarding opportunity for those passionate about animal health and welfare. This is a part-time, non-remote position located in Mira Loma, California, at 6301 Pat's Ranch Rd. Veterinarians working in this role are entrusted with providing exceptional patient care, leading medical teams, and actively contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering next-generation veterinary care. Responsibilities include conducting thorough physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and developing individualized preventive care plans guided by patient lifestyle and environment. The Veterinarian will perform routine and complex surgical and dental procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and oral surgeries, maintaining detailed and precise medical records for each patient. This position demands excellent clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and referral specialists.

Teamwork and professional conduct are essential to this role, as the Veterinarian serves as a de facto leader within the hospital, inspiring a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient needs and customer satisfaction. The Veterinarian will work closely with the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director, who provide guidance based on medical record reviews to promote best practices and elevated patient care standards. This role involves physical activity such as bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds, as well as prolonged periods of standing, reflecting the hands-on nature of veterinary medicine.
