The veterinarian role at Petco’s Vetco Total Care Full Service Veterinary Hospitals is a full-time position based in Yonkers, NY. This position offers a competitive salary range of $95,600 to $203,000 and is focused on delivering high-quality medical care within a collaborative and well-equipped environment. As a hospital veterinarian, the incumbent will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases in pets while supporting their overall health and wellbeing. The hospital features advanced equipment such as ultrasound machines, heated hydraulic surgery tables, and DDXR digital radiography systems, ensuring that veterinary professionals have the tools necessary for top-tier care. A strong paraprofessional team, including experts in dentistry and nutrition, supports the veterinarians, enabling a comprehensive approach to pet healthcare.

This role requires the ability to perform both routine and complex surgical and dental procedures, develop detailed treatment plans based on problem-based assessments, and effectively communicate with pet parents and referral hospitals. The veterinarian will be a vital member of an enthusiastic team, responsible for fostering an environment where patient needs always come first and where exceptional customer and patient experiences are prioritized. This position does not carry direct supervisory responsibilities but places the Veterinarian in a leadership role within the hospital team, encouraging mentorship and collaboration. The work environment consists primarily of the veterinary hospital, requiring physical activities such as bending, kneeling, lifting items up to 30 pounds, and standing for extended periods. The Veterinarian must be comfortable handling emotionally charged situations with compassion and professionalism and must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
