The Maintenance and Cleaning role at ECMCC is integral to the hospital's operations, ensuring that all areas within the hospital meet rigorous cleanliness standards. Job Duties
- Vacuums, sweeps, mops, buffs offices, corridors, stairs, stairwells, walls, furniture and equipment
- uses extension pole, ladder and scaffolds while cleaning walls, ceilings, washing light fixtures, changing drapes, changing cubicle curtains, or other activities
- shampoos and changes rugs when necessary
- cleans patient rooms where a high degree of cleanliness is required to minimize the possible spread of infection
- collects and transports linens to laundry
- returns linens to assigned areas
- gathers and disposes refuse as directed
- cleans public and patient bathrooms, scouring sinks, wet mopping floors, disinfecting toilet bowls, wiping down all surfaces and replenishing necessary supplies
- moves furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning tasks
- maintains supply rooms for housekeeping throughout the facility
- uses a variety of manual and mechanical equipment
- performs housekeeping activities in specialized areas such as the trauma unit, intensive care, cardiac care and emergency room, where sterile conditions must be maintained
- cleans and performs maintenance activities in areas containing scientific apparatus, laboratory supplies, experimental projects and animals
- cleans isolated rooms and bags and disposes of contaminated equipment
