Job Requirements

Be at least 18 years old
Possess the ability to add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters
Ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions
Respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information
Be courteous when occasionally contacting patients and visitors
Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds
Regularly stoop and bend
Reach and grasp objects below and at shoulder level, occasionally above shoulder level
Continually push and pull non-motorized equipment weighing over 50 pounds
Regular grasping and fine manipulation with hands
Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens
Ability to wear protective clothing as required

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in a healthcare or related environment is beneficial
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
Ability to operate electric and battery-powered cleaning equipment
Understanding of safety protocols related to bloodborne pathogens
Strong communication skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Job Duties

Perform intensive floor care such as dusting and damp mopping, stripping and refinishing, and spray buffing
Perform carpet and furniture care including vacuuming, spot removal, and shampooing
Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linen, and recyclable materials
Replace receptacle liners and recycling collection totes
Clean and sanitize horizontal and vertical surfaces including vents, light fixtures, window ledges, and doors
Clean restrooms including fixtures and replenishing supplies
Clean and maintain assigned areas such as stairwells, elevators, water fountains, walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and glassware
