Xanitos is currently hiring full-time and part-time Hospital Housekeepers for all shifts at CHS Laredo Hospital in Laredo, Texas. This role offers an hourly pay rate of $10.00 and accommodates various shift schedules including 1st shift (7 am to 3 pm) and 2nd shift (3 pm to 11:30 pm), with weekend and holiday work included. The employment type is multiple shifts available to provide flexibility for different candidates. This hiring event is scheduled for August 5, 2026, at CHS Laredo Hospital, and interested applicants must RSVP as no walk-ins are accepted due to limited availability.
The Hospital Housekeeper is a critical member of the Environmental Services team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of healthcare campus facilities. The position demands reliability and adherence to strict cleaning protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Hospital Housekeepers will perform a variety of cleaning duties including sanitizing rooms, hallways, restrooms, lounges, and other relevant areas using appropriate equipment and cleaning materials. The role requires physical stamina to handle tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, waste disposal, and replenishing bathroom supplies, often involving lifting or moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
Qualified candidates attending the hiring event will have the opportunity to receive an immediate job offer. Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, though medical and religious exemptions are considered. The position also requires passing a post-offer medical examination, background screening, and drug testing. High school diploma or GED is required, and experience in janitorial or medical cleaning industries is considered a plus. Job Duties
- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim
- cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
- sweeps and or vacuums floor
- dusts furniture and equipment
- polishes metalwork
- washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebasket and transports trash and waste to the disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies
- transports small equipment or tools between departments
