Job Requirements

- Ability to use cleaning equipment safely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Job Qualifications
- Experience in custodial or environmental services preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods
- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with handling medical waste is an advantage
Job Duties
- Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure
- Removes and properly handles soiled linen
- disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms
- dusts and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant
- Empties and relines wastebaskets, regulated medical waste containers, and recycle containers
- Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure
- Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors
- Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure
- Vacuums and spot cleans carpets
- operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors
- Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, personal protective apparel, supplies, and equipment
