Job Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
- Six months of patient care experience in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology strongly preferred
- Current driver's license and automobile insurance
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to provide care wherever the patient calls home
- Compassionate, kind and empathetic towards patients and their families
- Flexibility and composure while supporting others in times of crisis
Job Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
- Six months of patient care experience in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology strongly preferred
- Additional preferred experience such as hospital staff RN, Med Surg, PACU, Float pool, ER, critical care, acute care, cardiac, geriatric, admissions, wound care, telemetry, nursing home or travel experience
- Current driver's license and automobile insurance
- Current CPR certification
Job Duties
- Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director or Patient Care Manager Senior and function under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor
- Help the patient to maintain good personal hygiene
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Prepare and serve light meals
- Assist in feeding patient when needed
- Assist the patient in ambulation
- Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens
- Assist with certain treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowable in state-specific regulations
- Attempt to promote patient's mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest
- Give basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and other members of the household
- Report any change in the patient's mental or physical condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate basic care to the primary caregiver
- Practice infection control measures and standard precautions
- Provide accurate documentation with visit itineraries
- Attend staff meetings
- Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned by supervisor
- Complete documentation in a timely manner as outlined in orientation
