The role offered is that of a Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor. This position entails assisting in the administration and coordination of housekeeping functions within assigned sections of the hotel. It is a pivotal role that supports maintaining the highest cleanliness and service standards in guest rooms and public areas. The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms to ensure they meet established cleanliness standards and for assisting Room Attendants whenever needed. This role also involves providing necessary training to housekeeping staff to uphold and improve service quality. The Assistant Supervisor acts as the cornerstone of the housekeeping team during the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor, assuming full supervisory responsibilities to ensure seamless operations.

This position requires a proactive and service-oriented approach to management, ensuring that all housekeeping tasks are completed efficiently and meet the hotel’s high standards. Key responsibilities include oversight of daily housekeeping assignments, supervising laundry and housekeeping staff, managing cleaning schedules, maintaining inventory and keys, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies. The Assistant Supervisor plays a key role in motivating and coaching team members, handling lost and found procedures, and communicating effectively with other hotel departments, including the Front Office and Engineering.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in hotel or related field
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance as per scheduling requirements
  • Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and operational policies
  • Willingness to assist and supervise staff
  • Capability to use communication devices like pagers or radios
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and coach staff
  • Ability to carry out inspections and maintain records
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • College course work in related field helpful
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and name tag
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Inspect staff's work performance within assigned section daily to ensure standards and productivity levels
  • Inspect all VIP rooms and report availability to the Front Office in absence of Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Manager
  • Oversee organized closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked with linen only
  • Ensure records of daily assignments are completed and submitted on time
  • Maintain key control system
  • Assist with supervision of Laundry and Housekeeping staff holding them accountable
  • Handle lost and found items according to standards
  • Be familiar with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and House Rules
  • Ensure associates remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and associates
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of staff
  • Carry an active pager or radio to maintain contact with Front Office and Engineering
  • Oversee daily assignment of duties ensuring all Room and House Attendants have work assignments
  • Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings
  • Report on progress of out-of-order rooms daily to Guest Services Manager
  • Initiate and follow through on work orders for repairs and maintenance
  • Assist with training of Room Attendants
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel staff
  • Collect keys and assignment sheets at shift end
  • Attend management meetings
  • Ensure completion of maintenance and cleaning projects biannually
  • Monitor VIPs and special guest requests
  • Perform other duties as required by Management
