Job Description
Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare (TCBHC) is a reputable organization committed to providing comprehensive mental health and intellectual disability services in Conroe, Texas. With a strong focus on community well-being, TCBHC strives to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges and developmental disabilities by delivering compassionate and effective care. The organization operates multiple campuses and maintains a smoke-free environment to promote a healthy workplace for employees and the community alike. As a leading behavioral health service provider, TCBHC emphasizes equal employment opportunities, compliance with federal and state laws, and a commitment to Affirmative Action, ensuring a professional and inclusive workplace culture. The agency conducts thorough background checks in line with Texas Health and Safety Code regulations and prioritizes applicant safety and integrity.
The role of the Homeless Outreach Specialist at TCBHC is pivotal in connecting adults experiencing homelessness with vital services aimed at improving their mental health, substance use, and medical conditions. This position involves proactive community engagement, including outreach at libraries, coffee shops, community centers, parks, and encampments, where individuals experiencing homelessness may gather. As a Homeless Outreach Specialist, you will build meaningful relationships within the homeless community, identify individuals who would benefit from outreach services, and assist in coordinating access to support programs tailored to their needs. The role requires working with minimal supervision, managing a small caseload, and maintaining various projects that support the broader goal of ending homelessness.
This full-time position offers an hourly rate of $23, equating to an annual salary of approximately $47,944. It demands a candidate with a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field and qualification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) under Texas Administrative Code guidelines. Experience in mental health is required, while crisis experience is preferred. Additionally, holding a valid driver’s license and being insurable through TCBHC is mandatory due to the mobile nature of the outreach services. The position is vital for advancing TCBHC’s mission to provide mental health and substance use treatment resources effectively while fostering community collaborations with partners dedicated to ending homelessness. Employees will receive thorough training and support to navigate interpersonal challenges and ensure effective, safe interactions with individuals facing mental health disorders or intellectual and developmental disabilities such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delays.
