Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Completion of federally compliant training program as required by law
Successful completion of a competency evaluation program
Documentation of one year employment as an aide in an institution, home care or hospice setting
Meets agency hiring criteria including provision of professional references
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Responsibility for maintaining skills and adherence to policies
Ability to demonstrate organizational core competencies and ethics
Current driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work site

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Follows care plan developed by RN
Reports client changes in condition to RN, as described on care plan
Assists clients with personal care activities including bathing, mouth care, denture care, skin care, grooming, bathroom privileges, transferring, ambulation, and dressing and undressing activities
Assists clients with household tasks including planning and preparing meals, feeding, light housekeeping, changing linens, making bed, and laundering clothes and bedding
Measures and records client's oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse respiration and blood pressure as ordered
Performs range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of therapy services as assigned
Assists clients in self-administration of medication under RN supervision and documentation
