The Holmes Cook I position is a full-time role, offering approximately 90-100% employment. Working within this role means engaging in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where food preparation and quality service are paramount. As a Holmes Cook I, the selected candidate will prepare, season, cook, and portion a wide variety of foods, supporting a large student-focused food service operation. This position requires collaboration within a diverse team and demands adaptability given the evolving campus needs. The role is essential, particularly during university closures or emergency situations, requiring staff to maintain critical status and be available on-site despite disruptions. Candidates should expect to work flexible hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays off. The position is located mainly at Holmes Hall but may require work at related sites such as W. Akers Hall. Physical demands include occasional lifting of heavy items up to 75 pounds, punctuated by strict adherence to sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure food safety. The salary offered for this role is approximately $20.73 per hour.
