The Histology Supervisor position at Sampled plays a critical leadership role within the company’s Histology Laboratory. Reporting directly to the Manager of Laboratory Operations, this role is responsible for managing daily laboratory operations, as well as technical, quality, equipment, and personnel aspects within the histology department. The role demands a strong focus on compliance with CAP, GCLP, and other regulatory requirements, along with adherence to client specifications and internal quality standards. This position requires an individual with a dedicated leadership mindset capable of motivating laboratory staff, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing complex workflows efficiently, and supporting business development efforts. The Histology Supervisor also partners closely with biorepository teams to ensure seamless sample chain-of-custody and optimal laboratory capacity management.

Sampled offers a salary range for this role of $80,000 to $95,000, reflective of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Sampled values diversity and inclusion, welcoming applications from individuals regardless of gender, disability, or veteran status. In this role, the supervisor leads and manages a highly skilled team, fostering a culture of scientific excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This includes recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating laboratory personnel, as well as performance evaluations and professional development. Not only responsible for operational excellence, the Histology Supervisor drives method development and validation, spearheading the implementation of new services and technologies, developing tissue-based workflows, and ensuring robust validation protocols and documentation. This position also entails significant client and project support responsibilities, where the supervisor acts as a technical subject matter expert for histology projects, participates in client meetings, and contributes to proposal development. Financial and resource management duties include managing laboratory budgets, capital equipment planning, reagent inventories, and monitoring productivity metrics. The Histology Supervisor at Sampled thus provides essential leadership, technical expertise, quality management, and operational oversight to advance the company’s mission of delivering high-quality histology services that enable scientific discovery and improve health outcomes.
