Job Description

This job opportunity is with a franchised McDonald’s restaurant, owned and operated independently from McDonald’s USA. This franchisee operates using the McDonald’s brand, logos, and food products but is a separate legal entity and employer. The franchisee assumes full responsibility for all employment matters including hiring, firing, scheduling, supervision, and discipline. McDonald’s USA has no control over these operations or decisions. This position offers a unique chance to work in a globally recognized fast-food brand environment with solid support from the franchise operations.

The role in question is for a Shift Manager position at this independent franchised McDonald’s restaurant. The Shift Manager plays a critical leadership role by overseeing shifts, ensuring customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every time they visit. This role includes managing employees, maintaining food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards. Shift Managers act as the leadership backbone during their shifts, coordinating staff and operational activities to meet the high standards expected from a McDonald’s restaurant.

Shift Managers have a variety of responsibilities including planning each shift, monitoring progress and performance throughout the shift, and resolving any issues that may arise. They are also tasked with ensuring safety, security, and profitability targets are achieved. Effective communication with the upcoming Shift Manager is key to ensuring smooth transitions and consistent operations. The manager’s performance directly impacts meeting departmental goals.

Specific responsibilities include Food Safety compliance, internal communications, inventory and supply management, daily cleaning and maintenance standards, crew management, quality control in food production, delivering exceptional customer service, overseeing safety and security protocols, scheduling team members, and training new employees. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach and a strong ability to lead a team in the fast-paced, dynamic environment typical of McDonald’s.

The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience, preferably within the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries. Positive attitude, flexibility in work schedule, team spirit, and passion for working in a fast-paced environment are essential for success. Candidates must be 18 years or older to be eligible for the managerial role in these corporate-owned and operated restaurants. The position promises growth opportunities through performance reviews and offers a supportive team environment where fun and professionalism coexist.

Additionally, this opportunity comes with an extensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing and career development. Benefits include access to free college degree programs through Colorado Tech Institute or a college scholarship, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, paid time off for full-time staff, twice-yearly performance and wage reviews, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, and various insurance options including short-term, long-term, and life insurance. Employees also enjoy access to free tele-medical healthcare services, prescription discounts, complimentary uniforms, and non-slip footwear with convenient payroll deduction payment options.

Other perks include a free meal each shift, discounts at all McDonald’s restaurants, and access to McDPerkSpot, providing discounts on everyday purchases like cell phones, movie tickets, and vehicles. This extensive benefits package highlights the franchisee’s commitment to the health, education, and wellbeing of their employees, making the Shift Manager role not just a job but a career with opportunities for growth and personal development.
