Job Description
Quality Custom Distribution Services LLC (QCD), established in 2006 and a subsidiary of Golden State Foods (GSF), is a specialized last-mile distribution company dedicated to delivering tailored logistics solutions for selected foodservice industry customers. Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, QCD operates with a national footprint that includes 25 strategically placed distribution centers across the United States. The company services thousands of restaurants delivering over 37,000 shipments weekly, with its fleet driving more than 40 million miles annually. Beyond logistics, QCD associates actively contribute to community welfare by supporting the GSF Foundation, a national non-profit organization. This highlights QCD's commitment not only to operational excellence but also to social responsibility and community engagement.
At QCD, every role is integral to the success of the foodservice supply chain. This includes roles in order preparation, delivery execution, route mapping, and warehouse management. The company is currently recruiting for Class A Delivery Drivers in their Kent, Washington location. This role is focused on local delivery routes that are home daily without layovers, providing consistent scheduling and reliable income. The position offers an average yearly salary of approximately $105,000, equating to a competitive hourly wage of $35.00, along with union benefits as part of Teamster 117, underscoring a secure and supportive work environment.
The Class A Delivery Driver role at QCD involves managing multi-stop deliveries typically comprised of 14-18 stops per shift. Drivers operate state-of-the-art refrigerated trailers ranging from 36 to 53 feet equipped with liftgates for efficient loading and unloading, eliminating the need for ramps. Candidates need experience with refrigerated trailers and tractor-trailer driving, along with the physical capacity to handle freight weighing between 5 and 75 pounds. The position requires adherence to safety standards in various weather conditions, ensuring compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
QCD fosters a people-first culture built on core values: treating others with respect, maintaining high personal standards, and doing the right thing consistently. The company emphasizes shared success where employee growth directly benefits customer satisfaction. Employees are encouraged to embrace a dynamic work environment where challenges are met with learning opportunities, and collaboration leads to innovative solutions. This culture of integrity and inclusiveness is evident in QCD's approach to employee development, offering clear advancement pathways from entry-level roles to leadership positions supported by comprehensive training programs.
In addition to competitive pay and benefits, this role provides a balanced work schedule typically involving four days on and three days off, including weekend and holiday work. Dispatch times are primarily in the afternoon and evening, designed to align with driver and customer needs. QCD also offers weekly pay, health benefits covering medical, dental, and vision, paid time off and holidays, employee discount programs, and union benefits that enhance job security. Their investment in state-of-the-art equipment such as electric pallet jacks complements the commitment to safety and efficient delivery operations.
The opportunity to join QCD not only means securing a role in a leading foodservice logistics company but also committing to a career path that values development, recognizes individual contributions, and rewards hard work. Equal opportunity employment practices at QCD ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive and contribute to shared organizational success.
