Job Description

Our hotel, located near Redstone Arsenal and downtown Huntsville, offers a prime location just 15 minutes from the Redstone Arsenal headquarters. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Director of Sales to join our dynamic team. This role is a key leadership position responsible for driving sales and marketing strategies that maximize revenue and ensure the hotel remains the go-to destination in Huntsville. As the Director of Sales, you will be the creative force behind packed rooms and record-breaking revenue, leading a motivated team that celebrates every achievement with energy and enthusiasm.

In this overtime eligible manager position, you will have a hands-on role in shaping and executing bold sales plans, building strong client relationships, and developing innovative marketing campaigns. Your ability to connect with people, inspire your team, and maintain a strategic vision will be essential as you collaborate closely with the General Manager to support all hotel operations. Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license in the applicable state required
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate, sell, and influence
  • Thorough experience with professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong organization and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and interact with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure

Job Duties

  • Cast creative sales and marketing spells to fill rooms and increase revenue
  • Assemble, train, mentor, and inspire a diverse sales team
  • Build budgets, forecast sales performance, and develop marketing campaigns
  • Conduct sales calls, client tours, and networking to build lasting customer relationships
  • Support the General Manager and collaborate across departments to ensure operational excellence
  • Lead and motivate the team with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Manage strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives
