Job Description
This position is offered by a well-established hospitality company that manages over 800 hotels worldwide, renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a people-first work culture. Located conveniently just off I-95 and close to notable landmarks such as The New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center and Rutgers University, the establishment offers a vibrant environment featuring a Garden Grille & Bar open for breakfast, dinner, and drinks, alongside a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry for additional guest convenience. Guests enjoy comfortable rooms, a heated indoor pool, a fitness center, and complimentary WiFi, which together set a high standard of comfort and service.
The company prides itself on a culture built around teamwork and continuous improvement, encapsulated in daily Stand-up Meetings that celebrate employee achievements, share victories, and discuss ways to enhance service quality. Employees benefit from a robust support system and numerous professional growth opportunities, including management apprenticeship programs and leadership development initiatives.
The role of Food & Beverage Manager is vital to sustaining the establishment's promise of memorable hospitality. As an overtime-eligible managerial position, this role requires dynamic leadership to guide a hospitable team through fast-paced service environments ensuring that every meal and customer interaction is a positive one. The successful candidate will be the central figure in the management team, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, streamlining operations, and addressing guest concerns with finesse.
The Food & Beverage Manager acts as the "Captain of Hospitality," overseeing guest experiences from the lounge to banquets and ensuring each team member is well-trained and motivated. This individual also serves as the "Operations & Compliance Guru," responsible for maintaining high standards in grooming, safety, and certifications, including Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness certifications.
In addition to operational oversight, the Manager must excel in administrative duties such as payroll, staff scheduling, and productivity reporting, acting as the administrative backbone of the food and beverage department. The role involves ensuring food quality and attractiveness, designing and implementing engaging promotions, managing inventory, and handling beverage purchasing efficiently.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential, as the manager frequently interacts with guests and staff to swiftly resolve issues and maintain satisfaction levels. Also required is a proactive approach in analyzing operational reports, participating in organizational meetings, and infusing positivity and versatility throughout the team.
This role demands a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years in hospitality or equivalent education combined with experience. Computer proficiency and strong financial acumen are critical to success, as are leadership skills that enable handling stressful situations calmly and objectively.
The company offers an attractive benefits package that includes daily pay options, medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability income plans, life and AD&D coverage, paid time off, employee assistance programs, and a 401k retirement plan. These benefits reflect the company's dedication to employee well-being and financial security.
Overall, this is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Food & Beverage Manager who thrives in a dynamic, guest-focused setting and seeks to build a rewarding career with a global hospitality leader.
