Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- some college preferred
- minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- dependable and productive
- ability to work quickly under pressure
- ability to follow directions and instructions
- ability to read, print and speak simple English sentences
- ability to perform basic math calculations
- physically able to perform tasks such as frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying and pushing heavy carts
- able to handle exposure to fumes and chemicals
- capable to work in various environmental conditions
- strong attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience
- previous supervisory experience preferred
- prior commercial cleaning or guest service experience preferred
- working knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools
- excellent communication skills
- ability to train and coach team members
- strong organizational and inventory management skills
- knowledge of safety and cleaning regulations
- ability to maintain guest satisfaction and brand standards
Job Duties
- Coordinates all daily activities and plans for sufficient staffing to clean guest rooms and public areas
- inspects guest rooms and public outlets daily to ensure the quality assurance program is followed
- acts on assignments from the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper
- prepares weekly inventory, checks in supplies, reports discrepancies
- informs Housekeeping Management Team of needed supplies and creates purchase orders
- keeps the Housekeeping Management Team informed of departmental information
- assists in training new housekeeping employees
- completes daily housekeeping reports
- ensures maintenance requests are handled efficiently
- enforces company safety and security policies
- performs cleaning duties during slow periods or staff shortages
- manages opening and closing procedures for the housekeeping department
- physically inspects rooms daily for cleanliness and guest readiness
- provides feedback to room attendants
- reports maintenance issues immediately
- communicates room status to all divisions
- promotes teamwork and brand culture
- monitors and logs key control
- provides guest information about hotel services
- ensures proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies according to regulations
- collaborates with Front Office for guest room satisfaction
- manages Lost and Found documentation
- secures storage areas and submits housekeeping sheets
- maintains cleanliness of public areas
- performs other duties as assigned
