Job Description

Hilton Baton Rouge is a distinguished full-service hotel located in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, along the scenic Mississippi River. This iconic establishment serves guests with a refined hospitality experience that blends historic charm with modern amenities. With close proximity to cultural landmarks such as the Louisiana Old State Capitol and USS KIDD Veterans Museum, Hilton Baton Rouge offers an inviting atmosphere for both leisure and business travelers. The hotel provides a variety of amenities that enrich the guest experience, including complimentary Wi-Fi, a fully equipped fitness center, and an outdoor pool that boasts captivating views of the river and city skyline. Dining options at the hotel are equally impressive, featuring the Kingfish Grill, which presents a menu specializing in steaks, seafood, and daily breakfast offerings. Guests can also enjoy the lobby lounge, where they can relax with expertly crafted cocktails and small plates in a stylish setting.

The Pool Attendant role at Hilton Baton Rouge is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order around the pool area to ensure an exceptional guest experience. The attendant provides prompt and courteous service, contributing to the overall appeal and safety of the pool environment. This role requires constant vigilance as the attendant walks all assigned pool areas throughout their shift to remove and replace dirty towels, service trays, and glasses, as well as empty trash receptacles. The attendant is also tasked with setting up and breaking down pool areas daily, including managing linens and supplies to maintain the necessary inventory levels. Maintaining the cleanliness of pool showers, lockers, and bathroom areas is a continuous responsibility during the shift, and the attendant supports pool bartenders and servers by serving as a barback or busser.

Safety is a significant concern in this role, particularly at properties equipped with slides. The Pool Attendant must monitor guests using the slide and pool area, enforcing rules such as allowing only one guest at a time on the slide and ensuring no guest is present at the slide's bottom. This vigilance helps prevent accidents and promotes a safe and enjoyable environment for guests of all ages. The role also demands excellent communication skills, as the attendant responds to guest requests and queries and handles guest complaints with a hospitable manner to guarantee satisfaction. Coordination with supervisors is essential to align on work priorities and provide assistance as needed. Additionally, the Pool Attendant must be adaptable to varying schedules and ready to perform other duties assigned by leadership. This position is a full-time opportunity that comes with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package after an initial waiting period, making it an attractive career choice for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service.
