Job Duties
- Prepare entrees, casseroles, specialty dishes, and complex food items requiring multiple preparation steps
- Plan and execute food production to meet daily service and special function needs
- Cook specialty and complex food items according to standardized recipes and approved cooking methods
- Utilize creativity and expertise to ensure food is appealing in both presentation and taste
- Organize and manage workflow to ensure timely food distribution to serving units
- Carve and portion meats, fish, and poultry for individual servings
- Portion and apportion food according to menus, patient orders, and service requirements
- Maintain proper sanitation, health, and safety standards in all food preparation areas
- Ensure correct storage, handling, and holding of food items, including leftovers
- Safely and appropriately use kitchen equipment
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations applicable to the position
- Follow all safety practices including proper use of PPE, hand hygiene, incident reporting, waste handling, and exposure control procedures
- Proactively report safety concerns, errors, or potential risks
- Perform all other duties as assigned
