Job Description

Air Liquide Large Industries is a leading provider of industrial gas and energy solutions, serving major sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, refining, and steel manufacturing. Operating over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines across the United States, the company specializes in delivering large quantities of essential industrial gases like oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and syngas from multiple production sources directly to its major customers. Air Liquide's operations are continuously monitored 24/7 through an advanced operations control center located in Houston, Texas, ensuring optimized supply networks that enhance reliability and energy efficiency for its customers, facilitating quicker and more effective adjustment of supply needs and fostering growth.

The role of High Voltage Electrical Technician located primarily in Beaumont, Texas, with frequent travel to the Pasadena, Texas area, is a critical position within Air Liquide's operational support functions. This role demands a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and technical proficiency, especially in the maintenance and troubleshooting of medium to high voltage systems including substations and motors. The technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of a significant electrical substation infrastructure operating at 138kV and 13.2kV, managing both preventive maintenance and repairs on complex electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, motor control centers, and synchronous and induction machines. Additionally, this position requires collaboration with plant personnel and vendors to uphold quality standards and resolve electrical issues effectively.

The ideal candidate will be deeply engaged in the safety protocols detailed by national standards such as NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E, adhering strictly to corporate environmental, health, and safety policies. This includes active participation in routine substation inspections, preventive maintenance scheduling, and project management tasks such as scoping and coordinating electrical projects and vendor engagements. By mentoring other technical and operations staff, the High Voltage Electrical Technician supports continuous growth and improvement in the electrical systems’ operation and maintenance.

Working at Air Liquide means joining a diverse and inclusive workplace that values different perspectives and experiences, fostering innovation and collective success. Employees benefit from a full suite of benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, and paid time off including holidays, vacation, and sick leave. This position represents an exceptional opportunity for experienced electrical technicians seeking a challenging and rewarding career with a company dedicated to safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
