Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience as sous chef or 1-3 years as chef de cuisine in quality restaurants
  • Certified Food Manager certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in the workplace’s primary language
  • Skilled in kitchen operations including safe equipment use and food preparation
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Proficient in critical thinking, decision making, basic math, computer tasks, and effective collaboration across leadership levels

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Create innovative and seasonal menus from breakfast to dinner incorporating farm-to-table New England ingredients
  • Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen staff maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, and presentation
  • Develop daily and weekly specials in collaboration with the culinary team
  • Build strong personal relationships with guests by remembering preferences and dietary needs
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections and equipment maintenance
  • Manage inventory and control food costs to maximize profitability
  • Engage with guests and represent the restaurant in PR and promotional events
