Job Requirements
- One year of experience as a cook at a hotel or restaurant
- Ability to exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 pounds
- Ability to push/pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds
- Ability to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights, holidays, and weekends
- Must adhere to health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- One year of experience as a cook at a hotel or restaurant
- Full service hotel restaurant experience, preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and plating guides
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Job Duties
- Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations and Hotel requirements
- Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding
- Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guide
- Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions
- Meet with Head Cook/Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the job performance
- Inform F&B service staff of 86'd items and amount of available menu specials throughout the meal period
- Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirements
- Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
- Breakdown work station and complete closing duties
