The role of the Heine Brothers Barista at Omni Louisville Hotel involves upholding the highest standards of guest service by providing prompt, friendly, and professional coffee service. Baristas are influential in shaping guests’ experiences, ensuring satisfaction by efficiently handling orders, restocking merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness in the coffee bar area. A significant aspect of this role is excellent communication with both guests and team members, an ability to manage high-pressure environments calmly, and a dedication to professional presentation and uniform standards.

Candidates must have weekend availability and be willing to work a variety of shifts including holidays. Knowledge of proper cash handling and credit procedures, inventory management, and food safety compliance are essential. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant customer service experience
  • Weekend and holiday availability
  • Certification as STAR and Food Handler
  • Ability to work various shifts including nights
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience in food, beverage, or retail environment
  • Previous coffee house and hotel experience preferred
  • Previous cash handling and face-to-face customer service experience required
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside the department
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be STAR and Food Handler certified
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to stand or walk for an extended period or entire work shift

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively with guests and associates

  • Liaise with housekeeping to maintain and clean lobby public areas
  • Assist with monthly inventory
  • Maintain a clean workspace throughout the entire shift
  • Follow proper procedures for accepting credit cards and checks
  • Maintain a cash bank
  • Verify guest room numbers for room charges
  • Interact with other departments to ensure guest needs are satisfied
  • Adhere to proper food handling procedures
  • Demonstrate proper knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures
