The role of Heavy Cleaning Crew Member (HCCM) at Spokane Tribe Casino is a vital position within the operations team. The Heavy Cleaning Crew Member is responsible for comprehensive cleaning duties throughout the property, including intensive cleaning during slow business hours to minimize disruption to guests on the gaming floor. This role works primarily assigned graveyard shifts to maintain cleanliness, safety, and comfort for guests and staff. The HCCM also supports regular janitorial tasks during peak hours and must be ready to respond promptly to janitorial service calls across the casino.

In this role, the Heavy Cleaning Crew Member performs a wide variety of tasks ranging from floor maintenance such as stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, to kitchen and server station maintenance which involves cleaning walls, vents, and equipment areas. The position requires pressure washing restrooms, cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, windows, counters, tables, and other fixtures. Additional responsibilities include operating and maintaining various cleaning equipment, assisting facilities engineers during adverse weather conditions, and ensuring compliance with the Spokane Tribe Casino's guest service standards.

HCCMs are expected to communicate positively and effectively with guests, team members, supervisors, and management while upholding the mission of exceeding guests’ expectations. The role demands physical stamina as it requires working on feet for extended durations, lifting and moving heavy supplies, and working with cleaning chemicals safely. The position also involves performing special projects and other assigned duties that contribute to the overall maintenance and appeal of the property.

Moreover, the Heavy Cleaning Crew Member must adhere to regulatory and compliance responsibilities. This includes maintaining a License C with the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission, attending mandatory training, observing local laws and casino policies, and respecting confidentiality and integrity standards when accessing restricted areas. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of six months janitorial experience preferred especially floor care
  • Ability to effectively move around work areas and work on feet for extended periods
  • Must be able to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Capability to lift and move items up to 100 pounds occasionally and 10-20 pounds frequently
  • Willingness to work scheduled graveyard shifts and adapt to varying conditions such as noise, crowds, and smoke
  • Must obtain and maintain License C with Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission
  • Ability to attend required training sessions and comply with local laws and casino regulations
  • Strong communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and management
  • Maintain high standards of integrity and confidentiality in all job responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of six months janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
  • Previous floor care experience is preferred and given preference
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills required
  • Ability to physically perform cleaning duties including standing for long periods, using chemicals, and operating ladders and cleaning tools
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold high integrity standards
  • Knowledge of casino policies and regulations is an advantage

Job Duties

  • Perform floor maintenance including stripping and waxing floors and shampooing carpets
  • Maintain kitchen, server stations, and bars by cleaning walls, equipment, drains, vent hoods, and pressure washing floors
  • Conduct restroom maintenance including pressure washing floors and cleaning sinks, toilets, urinals, and counters
  • Execute general maintenance tasks such as cleaning walls, ceilings, lights, fixtures, ducts, windows, counters, tables, chairs, and railings
  • Operate and maintain all types of cleaning equipment and perform special projects as directed
  • Assist facilities engineers with property maintenance during adverse weather conditions
  • Notify supervisors or facilities team of any safety concerns and maintain effective communication with team members and management
