Job Requirements

  • Must provide immunization records for measles, rubeola, and PPD
  • Must have or be willing to receive Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Must have TB clearance or be willing to receive TB test
  • Must be able to speak and understand English
  • Must meet all job description requirements
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm shifts
  • Must work in all areas of the facility
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours
  • Must be able to work beyond normal hours and in other positions when necessary
  • Must attend all training and participate in continuing education programs
  • Must follow fire safety and Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Training Protocol

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to speak and understand English
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, visitors, and government personnel
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with others
  • Ability to seek out and incorporate new cleaning methods and principles
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Must maintain appearance of Environmental Services areas and perform regular inspections

Job Duties

  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness and safety
  • Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and sanitize restroom fixtures and floors
  • Clean windows and mirrors in bathrooms and entrance/exit ways
  • Sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors as scheduled
  • Wash, wipe, dust, and spot clean walls and ceilings
  • Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
  • Discard waste and biohazardous materials properly and re-line trash receptacles
  • Store equipment, tools, and supplies properly
  • Assist or fill in on other jobs as assigned
  • Pick up trash and dirty linen and dispose of appropriately
  • Distribute, restock, and count linens in linen rooms and usage areas
  • Restock housekeeping supplies such as trash bags, paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue
  • Perform all patient room dismissals
  • Police all areas of the facility for cleanliness
  • Perform high dusting and curtain changes as needed
