Job Requirements
- Must provide immunization records for measles, rubeola, and PPD
- Must have or be willing to receive Hepatitis B vaccination
- Must have TB clearance or be willing to receive TB test
- Must be able to speak and understand English
- Must meet all job description requirements
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm shifts
- Must work in all areas of the facility
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours
- Must be able to work beyond normal hours and in other positions when necessary
- Must attend all training and participate in continuing education programs
- Must follow fire safety and Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Training Protocol
Job Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
- Ability to accept constructive criticism
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, visitors, and government personnel
- Willingness to work harmoniously with others
- Ability to seek out and incorporate new cleaning methods and principles
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team
- Must maintain appearance of Environmental Services areas and perform regular inspections
Job Duties
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness and safety
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and sanitize restroom fixtures and floors
- Clean windows and mirrors in bathrooms and entrance/exit ways
- Sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors as scheduled
- Wash, wipe, dust, and spot clean walls and ceilings
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- Discard waste and biohazardous materials properly and re-line trash receptacles
- Store equipment, tools, and supplies properly
- Assist or fill in on other jobs as assigned
- Pick up trash and dirty linen and dispose of appropriately
- Distribute, restock, and count linens in linen rooms and usage areas
- Restock housekeeping supplies such as trash bags, paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue
- Perform all patient room dismissals
- Police all areas of the facility for cleanliness
- Perform high dusting and curtain changes as needed
