The Healthcare Host/Hostess role at Sodexo, located at Lehigh Valley Hospital, is a vital frontline position focused on enhancing the patient and guest experience within the hospital setting. This part-time role offers a competitive pay rate of $18 per hour and requires working morning, afternoon, and evening shifts on varying days including rotating weekends. As a Healthcare Host/Hostess, you will be the warm-welcomer and ambassador of hospitality within the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to ensure patient meal trays and floor stock are delivered timely and accurately while maintaining positive communication with patients, staff, and visitors. You will assist directly with meal setup at the bedside, interact with patients to ensure their satisfaction and comfort, and take accountability for proper inventory management and cleanliness of nourishment areas.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 year of related experience beneficial
  • Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, varying days and rotating weekends
  • Team-oriented and adaptable mindset

Job Duties

  • Effectively communicate with patients, staff and guests of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timelines of patient meal trays and floor stock
  • Record the amount and type of special food
  • Deliver meal carts to patient units
  • Aid in the meal set-up at bedside with direct patient contact
  • Discard soiled trays
  • Take inventory of nourishment areas, stock when necessary and accurately operate technical equipment
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
