Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, partnering with clients across various industries to provide exceptional food services, facilities management, and integrated solutions worldwide. With a commitment to creating a better everyday for everyone, Sodexo emphasizes improving the quality of life for those they serve and contributing to social, economic, and environmental progress in their communities. The company values inclusivity, respect, and fairness, fostering a workplace culture where employees can thrive, be themselves, and have their voices heard. Sodexo is dedicated to equal employment opportunities for all, embracing diversity and belonging as core values that strengthen their teams.

Located at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Sodexo is seeking a part-time Healthcare Host/Hostess to join their team. This role is vital in delivering a positive and warm experience for patients, staff, and guests alike. The Healthcare Host/Hostess acts as an ambassador of hospitality and customer service within the hospital environment, ensuring that patient meals and nourishment services are handled efficiently and respectfully. Working afternoon and evening shifts with varying days and rotating weekends, the position offers a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

As a Healthcare Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for effective communication with hospital personnel to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of meal trays and floor stock. You will take an active role in recording special food orders, delivering meal carts to patient units, and assisting with meal set-up at the bedside, which requires direct patient interaction. Maintaining cleanliness by discarding soiled trays and managing inventory for nourishment areas is also part of your duties. Operating technical equipment with accuracy and contributing to a safe and healthy working environment are paramount responsibilities.

This role requires a team-oriented, adaptable individual who is reliable and genuinely invested in fostering a positive atmosphere for patients and hospital staff. Though previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for those new to the healthcare or hospitality field. Sodexo supports its employees with ongoing training and development programs to help turn this job into a rewarding career.

The benefits package is robust, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k, and employee discount programs. Additionally, some locations may provide site-specific benefits like free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support. Sodexo strives to be transparent about the benefits and encourages candidates to inquire and discuss during the interview process.

Joining Sodexo means contributing to a company with a meaningful mission and values centered on respect, belonging, and personal growth. As a Healthcare Host/Hostess, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient and visitor experience, making a tangible difference in a healthcare setting every day. This position offers flexibility and the chance to be part of a larger purpose, where your dedication and compassion can truly impact lives positively.
