The role at Morrison Healthcare is a critical position responsible for overseeing kitchen operations with a focus on meal preparation aligned with corporate programs and guidelines. The position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, reflecting the importance of this leadership role within a dynamic and growing healthcare food service environment.

This individual will be entrusted with planning both regular and modified menus according to established guidelines while ensuring rigorous adherence to health and safety standards. Training kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safe handling procedures, and the operation of kitchen equipment is a key function, all grounded in the company’s and regulatory food safety requirements.

Responsibilities also include maintaining rigorous cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment, storage spaces, and work areas to ensure sanitation standards are met consistently. The role demands diligent inventory management to keep food and non-food supplies stocked within budgetary limits while ensuring product availability for uninterrupted kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experienced with computers
  • to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Extensive catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on Company and regulatory standards
  • Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
  • Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines while assuring that necessary product is available when needed
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
