Job Description
Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is a prominent leader in healthcare food and nutrition services, dedicated to serving more than 1,000 hospitals and healthcare systems across the United States. With a strong workforce of over 31,000 associates nationwide, Morrison Healthcare uniquely leverages the Power of Food to create personalized and restorative dining experiences for patients and visitors in their cafes. The company’s mission is deeply rooted in advancing health and healing through nutrition, and its commitment is evident in the tailored food services it offers to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Morrison Healthcare has a storied history spanning more than 70 years, during which it has cultivated a reputation for excellence by combining culinary artistry with nutritional science and operational efficiency. The company boasts a team of more than 1,600 registered dietitians and 1,200 executive chefs, who collectively serve in excess of 600 million meals annually. This ensures that every meal delivered meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and taste, essential in a healthcare setting. Morrison Healthcare’s dedication to its employees is equally significant, as evidenced by its recognition as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work since 2012 and receipt of the Training Magazine Top 125/APEX Award for outstanding training and development programs.
The Healthcare Executive Chef III role at Morrison Healthcare involves leadership and management of kitchen operations within a smaller acute care hospital setting. This position requires overseeing meal preparation adhering strictly to corporate programs, guidelines, and compliance standards, ensuring both patient and staff safety, as well as food quality. The Executive Chef III plays a critical role in menu planning – including regular and modified menus to meet the needs of various patient dietary requirements and preferences – while also training kitchen staff in culinary best practices, safety protocols, and operational procedures. This job demands a blend of culinary expertise, strong leadership, detailed operational knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining sanitation and health regulations at all times.
This role is essential to the hospital’s foodservice success, requiring a high level of organization to manage inventory, maintain cleaning schedules, and ensure efficient operation of kitchen equipment. The Executive Chef III will also monitor food and non-food supplies to control costs while maintaining product availability to support continuous meal service. This is a position that not only requires culinary skills but also a strong focus on regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation rules.
Joining Morrison Healthcare means becoming part of a company devoted to supporting patient health through nutrition, fostering a workplace environment that values training, advancement, and diversity. Associates benefit from comprehensive programs that support their well-being and professional growth. By applying to Morrison Healthcare, candidates embark on a career path with a reputable and industry-leading employer committed to excellence and innovation in healthcare foodservice management.
