Job Requirements

  • Associate of science degree or equivalent experience
  • three to five years progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • knowledge of current food and catering trends
  • proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office suite
  • ability to train and manage kitchen staff
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare foodservice environment

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, cost control, and presentation
  • proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet
  • experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations preferred
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable
  • extensive catering experience considered a strong plus

Job Duties

  • Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment
  • enforce food safety and sanitation standards based on company and regulatory requirements
  • establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment, storage, and work areas
  • manage inventory of food and non-food supplies to comply with budget and ensure availability
  • comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
